The LW08 (RAWL02Mk-3) radar system for long-range surveillance in D-band (L-band), providing target indication to weapon control systems. It meets all vital requirements for any naval radar system: LW08 presents a clear picture of the environment; it does so, reliably, under any' circumstances; and does it without adding great weight to the superstructure of the ship.
The aspect with distinguishes LW08 from its competitors is its wide range and superb accuracy. The system has proven its worth time and time again, operating in various circumstances. LW08 performs with great frequency agility over a wide band, due to it's synthesizer-driven TWT transmitter.
Excellent performance under various clutter conditions is ensured by the wide dynamic range receiver with application of digital video processing, supported circular polarization.
The LW08 antenna has a low side-lobe level, which assists the system in operating under ECM conditions. Moreover, due to its lightweight construction and stabilization platform, this antenna can be installed at a high mast position, thereby improving performance.
For upgrade and ship-life-extension-programs (SLEP), a solid state transmitter is available. Combined with an improved automated tracking and track initiation processor with an open-architecture interface, life extension is an effective solution from operational and cost perspective as recognized by a number of navies.
