Thales Nederland (TNL) offers the whole range of Combat System Integration (CSI) services, which are aimed at providing the Customer with engineering and management support at Combat System level, such that a complete Combat System is turned over to the Customer in accordance with contractually agreed performance.
On a smaller scale, this can be an integrated weapon cluster.
This is realised by the teamwork of experienced engineers who have mastered the skills of building “functional chains“ for the selected subsystems that provide the essential combat performance for a specified environment. Based on Thales' CSI experience of the past 20 years our customers know that the “risk burden” of late delivery and inadequate system performance is greatly minimised by effective CSI.
It is typical for our CSI team to complete Combat System installation and integration on board within 4 to 6 months, depending on the Combat System complexity. This short on board period creates important cost savings for our Customers.
The CSI services offered by Thales Nederland contain activities, which range from RFQ consultancy, proposal evaluation, system engineering, system integration, production verification, quality control, testing and installation up to and including sea acceptance trials. Out of a long list of available CSI risk reducing and money saving services a selection can be made for each specific project. Well defined steps, utilising incremental testing and reviews, as well as, the utilisation of TNL’s land based test and integration site, (integrating both TNL and non-TNL systems in a strictly controlled environment), are the backbone of our successful CSI process.
In many naval projects, Thales has proven its capability to act as the single technical and managerial interfacing authority in a variety of international projects team compositions Approximately thirty Naval Combat System integration contracts, encompassing over one hundred platforms, have been successfully managed by TNL. During all these projects Thales Nederland has been the Combat System Integrator in various roles and has been a key partner for shipyards and end-users, resulting in deliveries on time, within budget and with proven performance.
